Return and Refund Policy
Effective Date: 31 July 2025
At Makoti Marketplace, we aim to ensure you are satisfied with every purchase. If you are not completely happy with your order, you may return it within 30 days of delivery, subject to the terms below.
1. Eligibility for Returns
You may return an item if:
- It is unused, unopened, and in its original packaging.
- It is defective, damaged, or not as described.
- The return request is made within 30 calendar days from the delivery date.
Returns will not be accepted for:
- Items marked as final sale or non-returnable.
- Perishable goods, hygiene products, or personal care items.
- Gift cards or downloadable software.
2. Return Process
To initiate a return, please:
- Email us at returns@makotimarketplace.co.za with your order number and reason for return.
- Wait for return instructions and confirmation.
- Package the item securely and send it to the return address provided.
Return shipping costs are:
- Customer’s responsibility for non-defective returns.
- Covered by us for defective, damaged, or incorrect items.
3. Refunds
Once your return is received and inspected:
- We will notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
- If approved, your refund will be processed within 5–10 business days.
- Refunds will be issued to the original payment method.
Please note:
- Original shipping charges are non-refundable, unless the return is due to our error.
- In some cases, a restocking fee may apply.
4. Exchanges
We only replace items if they are defective or damaged. If you need to exchange for the same item, email us at returns@makotimarketplace.co.za.
5. Late or Missing Refunds
If you haven’t received your refund yet:
- First check your bank account again.
- Then contact your bank or credit card company — it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.
- If you’ve done all this and still have not received your refund, please contact us.
